Your account
Registration is for people aged 16 or over. Provide an email address you control, choose an appropriate username and keep your login secure. Verify your email before using the account. Do not impersonate someone else, share credentials or use another person’s account. Google/Apple users must also complete their profile and accept these terms.
Forecasts and surf experience
Predictions, quality ratings, estimated breaking heights and confidence values are estimates from available models and observations. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. A surf skill profile is your own assessment; it is not a qualification or a safety assessment. The service does not determine whether a beach is safe for you, assess rip currents, lifeguard coverage or equipment, or replace local guidance. Check conditions at the beach and any official warnings. This is not an emergency or navigation service.
Saved beaches, alerts and reports
Saved beaches and preferences can sync across devices. Optional email alert choices are separate from agreeing to these terms. Alert delivery and condition reporting are being prepared and are not currently available. When reports are enabled, submit honest observations, avoid personal or sensitive information, and do not post abusive, unlawful or misleading material. Any future rights to publish reports will be explained before submission is enabled.
Fair use and source credits
Do not disrupt the service, exploit vulnerabilities, scrape private account data or attempt unauthorised access. Respect source licences listed in Data sources. BestSwell’s branding and original interface belong to their respective owner; third-party data retains its own licence. Providers do not endorse BestSwell.
Availability and account restrictions
We aim to keep the service useful but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or notification delivery. Features may change. We may restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security or legal requirements. Where appropriate, you may contact us to challenge a restriction.
Personal data and changes
The Privacy notice explains how account information is used and your rights. We record the version of these terms you accept. Material account-service changes will be explained and new acceptance requested where appropriate. Optional email alerts can be withdrawn independently.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Please contact us first about a problem so we can try to resolve it. These terms do not remove any mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live.
